Meet the family

A community is only being created when its members accept that they are not going to achieve great things, that they are not going to be heroes, but simply live each day with new hope, like children, in wonderment as the sun rises and in thanksgiving as it sets. Community is only being created when they have recognized that the greatness of man is to accept his insignificance, his human condition and his earth, and to thank God for having put in a finite body the seeds of eternity which are visible in small and daily gestures of love and forgiveness. The beauty of man is in this fidelity to the wonder of each day.
Jean Vanier, Community And Growth

During the next 12 months I hope that we will build a community of like-minded people, those who love to create and to share what they have created.  Those who encourage others and lift them up.

My experience with An Attitude of Gratitude and with An A to Z of Me is that those kind of people joined in.  If you haven't taken part in those challenge blogs please know that this is a safe place to be.  There is a Facebook group which you can join which can only be seen by members of the group and you can share your work and thoughts there or more publicly elsewhere.

There are going to be several friends who are going to contribute regularly throughout the next 12 months.  I borrowed the descriptions from their blogs!

Bernice (that's me) is 60 something and retired from paid work.  She has been married for nearly 30 years and has a son and daughter-in-law living in Australia.  She loves to read, create, travel, take photographs and encourage others to do the same.   She loves to participate in workshops and online courses, and sometimes finishes them!  Since the Autumn of 2012 she has been hosting challenge blogs for crafters. She has planned a year of exciting challenges for 12 Months in View suitable for any and every type of crafter.

Carolyn is in her 40's, a mum who spends too much time online and not enough cleaning her window sills.   She is a felter, she reads, writes, scrapbooks, take photographs, and loves to explore lots of craft activities, the messier the better. Her life has been a journey with many ups and downs, pretty much like anyone else's.   She is thankful that God has been faithful to His promises as she muddles through.   Carolyn can be found at Mess, Muddle & Fun.   Carolyn is going to share her love of children's books with us.

Joanna is a collage/mixed media artist living in the Okanagan Valley, British Columbia, Canada. She draws inspiration from many sources including her love for music and nature, and the study of metaphysics.  For the past several years, her work has concentrated on taking materials that would otherwise end up in our landfills and recycling it into collage art.   She can be found at Joanna Banana Design Originals.     Joanna will be sharing some recycled art ideas.

Judy loves the Lord, her family, friends, and playing with paper while encouraging others to put their faith in their art.   You can find her at Be Present Be Real.   Judy is going to share with us her secrets for offering hospitality on special occasions.

Susan is a papermaker, printmaker, mixed media artist, horticulturist, amateur naturalist, wife and mother. She loves God and the world he created. She delights in discovering and learning new things every day.  It is her goal to share these joys with others.   You can find her at Honeysuckle Cottage and Wisteria Studio.   Susan is going to share about the Flower of the Month with quarterly technique tutorials.

During the year there will also be post from guests and I will introduce them as we go along.

Remember, you can do as much or as little of the challenges.  If you just want to read the blog and view the work produced by others you are very welcome.

See you tomorrow for the start of 12 Months in View.
